Introducing #bfyb baby Estella Ryan born on 7/16 at 6:16 pm. Mommy and Daddy @cstubbendeck are just sooo in love! 💓💓💓 #bumplove #babylove
When I learned that Bump Start Club customer Kira Krümm was an internationally acclaimed Interior Designer, I begged her to guest blog on how she approached her new baby boy’s nursery. Here she shares her tips for creating an eco-chic, serene nursery for her son, Marco.
When I embarked on the project of creating the nursery for my newborn baby my concept was clear- I wanted to create a space that was tranquil, peaceful, pure, and simple. It needed to be both good for baby and good for the environment…

Wishing you and your family a safe & happy 4th of July!
When my sister and sister-in-law told me they were throwing me a baby shower, they made mistake number one…asking me what I wanted. Now, for those of you who know me know I am a perfectionist so you can just about imagine the dread on their faces awaiting my response and list of ideas to follow. I really wanted something classy and elegant and I had one request, to be carried in on a “little” (in Ancient Roman times, royalty would often be carried on this platform or bed). I was kidding of course (sort of). Although I did refrain from dictating my own shower with too many suggestions, I did hint towards a garden theme….

Happy Father’s Day! #hairydad #dadsday
The “F” Word
That’s Father’s Day, of course. It’s around the corner, Sunday, yes, this Sunday. Since we did a gift guide for Mother’s Day, it’s only fair that we include Dad’s Day too (or whatever you call him: Pops, Papa, Old Man). Did you know that according to a study conducted by the National Retail Federation, we will spend $7 billion less on Father’s Day than what we spent on Mother’s Day which was only a little under a month ago? How sad. Here are some subscription suggestions (and don’t worry that it’s last minute) to make that guy in your life feel special.
For the new dad (he’s gonna need it)
Craft Coffee Subscription Cost: $19.99 - $24.99 per month
For the suave dad
Birch Box Cost: $20 a month
For the hairy dad
Dollar Shave Club Cost: $1-$9 a month (with other available add-ons like shave butter and wipes)
For the carnivorous dad
Zingerman’s Bacon of the Month Club Cost: $189 for quarterly package
For the outdoorsman dad
Mystery Tackle Box Cost: $15 per month or $165 per year
At my 33 week appointment, “it” got real. We started to discuss the position of baby, contractions, the birth plan….is this really happening?! Seems like these past 33 weeks have been just full of nursery preparations, showers and overall avoiding the birthing process. My doctor informed me that at 36 weeks, they won’t stop delivery. That’s less than 3 weeks away! Even though statistics are against me (majority of first-time mamas go up to if not past their due date), I started to panic. Time to start thinking about my packing list for the hospital. I hate being unprepared so after doing some research and asking my mama friends, I combined some lists to share with you first-timers like me.
ID & insurance card
Cell phone & charger
Camera & extra battery or charger
Snacks & drinks
PJ’s (at least 2 pair..even though I will deliver in July, I am usually cold so I will opt for a long sleeve button down and long pants). I like these from Victoria’s Secret - they come in a variety of colors and lengths.
Nursing bras & tanks
Panties (go up one size and I also heard buying a cheaper brand so you don’t feel bad throwing them away..I like a cute boyfriend boxer brief)
Pads & nursing pads
Footwear (slippers, socks & flip flops for showering)
Going home outfit (comfy but cute..like leggings with a tunic or loose tee and cardigan)
Toiletries (differs for everyone but don’t forget a toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash and wipes, moisturizer, shampoo & conditioner, dry shampoo, brush and hair ties)
Blanket & pillow
Hoodie & comfy bottoms
Make-up (tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara)
Playlist & headphones
Pillow & cute pillow case (this will be the backdrop for many of pictures)
Soft towels (for showering)
Extra bag (to take home of the freebies from the hospital)
Treats for nurses
